Event Details
AmbITion and Arts Council England, Yorkshire invite you to the AmbITion/Digital Opportunities Roadshow in Partnership with Shift Happens 2.0
Organisations 2.0, the RFO in the Digital Age
The AmbITion Roadshow is running in partnership with Shift Happens 2.0, building on the success of the first Shift Happens conference last summer.
The events are separate, but designed to complement each other. The AmbITion Roadshow is free, and it’s programme runs from 10am – 5pm on 29th June. The end of the Roadshow merges with the beginning of Shift Happens 2.0 starting at 4pm 29th-30th June, which you can attend, but please book separately.
Do consider attending both events – Shift Happens will complement your AmbITion roadshow experience with inspiring speakers that include Charlie Leadbeater, Bill Thompson, Andy Hobsbawm, Lyn Gardner, Lucy Wurstlin and the National Theatre. To find out more and book your place visit shift-happens.co.uk.
AmbITion invites you to a day of exploration, exposition, conversation and critical thinking around the digital opportunities for organisations as you think about artistic practice, organisational and audience development and business models in our digital age.
Gain practical hands on experience of the Web 2.0 environment with hands-on sessions to inspire and provoke creative thinking on how to integrate Web 2.0 into your organisation.
The Roadshow will showcase some of the most exciting models via talks, masterclasses and practical immersive sessions, and show you how to use them to their full potential.
We will try to answer the following questions:
Why?
The phrase Web 2.0 is being increasingly used, but often with little understanding of what it means. Web 2.0 offers genuine interactivity. It’s a two-way process that enables us to build communities, engage in dialogue and enrich experiences. This can include websites, YouTube, MySpace, Second Life, Facebook, mobile technologies among many others.
This is not about grafting a token ‘digital’ strand to our activity, it's about changing the way we do things, as our audiences are. The good news is it doesn't need to be difficult, or expensive.
The AmbITion project was a 2 year Arts Council England initiated programme to advance selected organisations’ operating and artistic use of new technologies. The national programme of Roadshows will disseminate learning gained through the project.
Who?
Chief executives, directors and senior managers of Arts Council regularly funded organisations should attend this opportunity to get thinking, get immersed and get participating with digital opportunities.
When?
29 June 2009
How much will it cost?
The event is free to the Arts Council’s regularly funded organisations.
Where?
York Theatre Royal, York.
